The new, contemporary intervention in the intensely historic setting does not seek to be ostentatious, yet the block-like, heavy stone-clad mass indicates the significance of the place even to the pedestrian on the street. This block-like character is softened on the north-western side by a faceted, delicately indented triangular translucent surface. The translucent white marble provides elegant, natural lighting for the interior, while in the evening, its glow toward the square marks this site of prominent historical significance in a contemporary manner.
